Session 1: Opening Plenary

October 17, 2016
9:15 AM – 10:45 AM

The opening Plenary session of the conference set the scene for the next five days, charting the meteoric rise from City to Megacity of the Pearl River Delta urban region; looking at some of the ground breaking work in sustainable vertical urbanism in Singapore and other Asian cities; and finishing with the findings of a seminal two-year CTBUH research study on urban vs. suburban “sustainability,” embracing energy consumption, transport movements, infrastructure provision, and quality of life.
